I think it’s important that groups like this club exist because in my experience, people talk about xenophobia much less than other social justice issues. I think we often clump xenophobia in with racism, and while they are similar, it’s important sometimes to separate the two so that we can see how everyone’s geographical perspective affects their biases.

You are exactly correct, Meggie! Xenophobia is not the same as racism, sexism, or many other forms of discrimination and bigotry because it's gender-blind, color-blind, race-blind, age-blind, and sexuality-blind in nature. That makes it far more versatile and therefore reaching onto the global stage beyond national borders. We at SAX hope that through open-dialogues, positive exchanges and a forward-looking platform, we can achieve the goals of enhanced awareness and multi-lateral understandings. At this forum, we hope all members can openly voice their thoughts and ideas, put forward suggestions and debate potential solutions!
